(88) He died on 3 Jan 1820 in LaHave, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. He was buried on 5 Jan 1820. He was a sawmiller. He was a Farmer. Thoresen Family Group record: 20 November 1974. He was married to Johanna (Anna) Christina NAAS on 17 Jun 1783 in Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Page 318, Lutheran Church, Lunenburg, N.S.: "Jac. Hartly of Jac. Hartly (Miller) in Eichwald (3) son and Anna Christina Naasse of Christoph Naasse in North West (3) Dau. Married 17 June 1783." Johanna (Anna) Christina NAAS (89) was born about 1766. She was baptized on 12 Jan 1766 in Lunenburg, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. She died after 1808. She was also known as Anna Christina Nauss. Identified in Thoresen's Family Group 2-4, 1964, as Anna Christina or Anna Catherine Nauss. Also from Stephen W. Naas, Presque Isle, ME., and Winthrop Bell's notes (see

child105 ix. (Anna) Dorothy "Dora" HIRTLE(92) was born on 14 Aug 1803.(13) She died on 7 Apr 1819. She was buried on 10 Apr 1819. Dora was murdered in 1819 by an Irish schoolmaster. She refused his attentions and he threw her down the bank into the stream - having first killed her with a fence stake.
