John Frederick HIRTLE ⁽¹³⁾⁽⁶⁶⁷⁾⁽⁶⁶⁸⁾ was born on 17 Sep 1836 in LaHave, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.⁽²²⁾ He was baptized on 25 Oct 1836 in Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.⁽²²⁾ He died on 11 Nov 1893 in Charleston, Queens, Nova Scotia. He was buried in Old Charleston Cemetery.⁽¹³⁾ Steven Hartlen's note:

John's wife Mary was of native ancestry which goes back to a famous Mic Mac tour
guide who was Thomas Pennellalso. The name Parnell is spelled Pennell in early Lunenburg. I have a complete line done on Mary Parnell which you can copy if you like.

He was married to Mary Elizabeth PARNELL on 20 May 1858 in Charleston, Queens, Nova Scotia. Mary Elizabeth PARNELL⁽⁶⁶⁸⁾⁽¹³⁾ died on 5 Oct 1924. She was buried in Old Charleston Cemetery. Steven Hartlen's note:

Mary Parnell was our great,great, great grandmother. I have a large amount of information on the Parnell lines which really should be pronouned Pennell. John Frederick HIRTLE and Mary Elizabeth PARNELL had the following children:
