was born on 22 Oct 1793 in Lunenburg, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
(22) Thoresen's notes give the birth and baptismal places as Quoddy,
Halifax, Nova Scotia. Shankle's Online Index lists the birth and baptism as
recorded in Zion Lutheran Church. He was baptized on 2 Nov 1793 in Zion Lutheran
Church, Lunenburg, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.(22)

Nova Scotia. Shankle's Online Index lists the birth and baptism as recorded
in Zion Lutheran Church. He resided about 1810 in Quoddy, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
He died on 25 Jan 1828. He was also known as Hartling, Hirtle. From Ryan's
notes on his father's family group record:
"Son Peter accompanied John Philip & stepmom Anna Elizabeth Hartling
to Eastern Shore, arriving ca. 1810 @ Quoddy, N.S. On 20 Nov. 1817 Peter Hartlin
of Beaver Harbour (residence Quoddy) & Mary Horn of Eastern Passage were
married. Peter and Mary resided @ Quoddy. In 1824 Sept. petition of Hale's
Grant they had 4 children."
From Philip Hartling's "Where Broad Atlantic Surges Roll":
...it appears that only the children by his [Philip Hartling's] second wife accompanied
him to Quoddy. There was one exception, however: Peter, the son of Philip and
Susanna Elizabeth Hartling, who was born on 22 October, 1793. On 20 November,
1817, Peter Hartlin (not spelled Hartling) of Beaver Harbour (his residence would
be Quoddy), and Mary Horn of Eastern Passage, were married. Peter and Mary Hartlin
probably lived at Quoddy for a time since Peter Hartlin had a wife and four chldren
when he signed the petition for a portion of the Hale's grant in September, 1824.
He was married to Mary HORN on 20 Nov 1817 in Quoddy, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
