FIFTH GENERATION

346. George Alexander HARTLING ⁽⁷⁴²⁾ was born on 25 May 1842. ⁽⁷⁴³⁾ He died on 11 Oct 1924. ⁽⁷⁴⁴⁾ He was a Shipwright 1840s to 1870s? in Beaver Harbour, Halifax, Nova Scotia, CA.⁽⁷⁴⁵⁾ Philip Hartling wrote:

"His [Jacob Hartling, b.1801] sons were also ship carpenters. A schooner owned and undoubtedly built by Jacob, John, and Alexander Hartling was the _Speculator_, of 99.92 tons. It was constructed at Beaver Harbour in 1867. Another vessel built by Jacob Hartling, Junior was the _J. W. Young_: [description of the J.W. Young from the Evening Express, Halifax, 28 Feb. 1870, p. 2, follows]" He was a Carpenter.⁽⁷⁴⁶⁾ He resided in Port Dufferin, Halifax, Nova Scotia.⁽⁷⁴⁷⁾

He was married to Lydia Ann MACLEOD (daughter of James MACLEOD and Sophia WHITMAN) on 25 Dec 1871. ⁽⁷⁴⁸⁾ George Alexander HARTLING and Lydia Ann MACLEOD had the following children:
